Ra Loga i Vau

Sakapo Vodivodi and Na Gera - saw an illuminated white cross on the top of Koroirea.

Heralds from Tui Bua arrived with an edict for Solevu to accept Methodists as their new religion. The Tabua (Whales Tooth) was returned to Tui Bua, as Sakapo and Na Gera prepared for war.

On a desolate and moonless night, Naqera loomed in the shadows, a solitary figure guarding his slumbering village. Wisps of smoke snaked through the air like spectral apparitions, blending with the starless expanse above, while dying embers cast a haunting glow, relinquishing the last remnants of warmth from the huts. This was the routine of the Chieftain—a sentinel overseeing his vulnerable flock as darkness unfurled its ominous cloak. The night, a harbinger of peril, invited sinister entities from the depths of the sea and the depths of the forest to wreak havoc upon the unsuspecting sleepers. Naqera, eternally vigilant, had confronted these perils before, his senses razor-sharp, anticipating an ambush by ruthless marauders or a merciless onslaught orchestrated by malevolent spirits, sent to unleash torment upon his warriors in their slumber.

Naqera is not alone on this night patrol.  He is accompanied by Sakapo Vodivodi,  a powerful warlock.  Sakapo was blind from birth and was an albino Fijian. He was from a clan of warlocks.  He was endowed with the gift of foresight and knowledgeable in reading omens. Sakapo walked thru the village beside his chieftain. They had fought many battles side by side,  his blindness an advantage amplifying his other senses to superhuman sensitivity.  Being a Fijian Albino he was feared,  his pinkish white skin,  chisel body with fiery red hair caused ghostly fear thru any would be assailant. Sakapo Vodivodi hailed from the Clan of Burenitu, whose traditional role was “Bete” (Warlock), wise advisor and consultant to his chieftain.
