THE DEVIL’S PLAYBOOK π CHAPTER X: THE WORLD BURNS BY ACCIDENT
The Devil’s Playbook: Pathways to World War
π± REVELATION
Revelation 6:4
“Then another horse came out, a fiery red one.
Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth
and to make people kill each other.”
⚔️ RAGNAROK – VΓΆluspΓ‘ 45
“Brothers will fight and fall to one another,
Kindred will betray their kin.
Hard is the world, full of axe-age and sword-age
before the world falls.”
πΏ THE DEVIL’S DECREE
“Do not start the war.
Make them believe the other side already has.”
I. THE SPARK
No empire declares:
“Let us begin the final war.”
Instead the spark appears small:
- a cyber attack
- a murdered leader
- a drone strike
- a sacred place violated
- a satellite falling silent
Each side believes the other moved first.
No one pauses.
Pride moves faster than truth.
II. THE MISREAD MOTIVE
In crisis, governments assume the worst.
A radar glitch becomes a missile.
A sabotage becomes an invasion.
A terrorist becomes a state proxy.
Leaders do not want to hesitate.
Because hesitation looks like weakness.
And weakness, in the language of power, invites predators.
III. THE DEFENSIVE MOVE THAT LOOKS LIKE WAR
Troops are mobilised.
Ships sail.
Missiles disperse.
Every state says the same thing:
“We are acting defensively.”
But to the other side, defence looks exactly like attack.
IV. THE THIRD HAND
Wars rarely stay between two enemies.
A third power intervenes:
- to defend an ally
- to protect trade routes
- to secure resources
- to prevent defeat of a partner
Soon there are not two sides.
There are blocs.
And blocs do not retreat easily.
V. THE COLLAPSE OF ORDER
Once global systems begin failing, the war spreads.
Markets crash.
Energy flows stop.
Food supply chains fracture.
Communication networks break.
Every government fears internal collapse.
So every government escalates.
VI. THE FOG OF LIES
Information becomes the battlefield.
False footage.
Forged intelligence.
Deepfake speeches.
Fabricated atrocities.
In war, truth does not die first.
It disappears entirely.
VII. THE ALLIANCE TRAP
Alliances that once guaranteed peace now demand loyalty.
Treaties written to deter war begin to ignite it.
One state enters.
Then another.
Then another.
Soon the conflict is no longer regional.
It is planetary.
VIII. THE POINT OF NO RETURN
By the time leaders realise the mistake, the machine is moving too fast.
Mobilised armies cannot simply stand down.
Nations that have lost blood cannot simply forgive.
And nuclear weapons ensure that every escalation risks the end of civilisation itself.
At that moment, the war no longer belongs to the people.
It belongs to momentum.
THE DEVIL’S FINAL LESSON
The greatest wars in history were rarely planned as world wars.
They began as mistakes that leaders were too proud to reverse.
World wars do not start with hatred alone.
They start with:
- fear
- miscalculation
- wounded pride
- alliances that cannot retreat
And systems that fail faster than wisdom can act.
THE QUIET TRUTH
The modern world contains thousands of potential sparks.
Most never ignite.
But history teaches one uncomfortable lesson:
Civilisation is not destroyed by one madman.
It is destroyed when too many rational men make irreversible decisions too quickly.
